It’s my first post. As a writer. My goodness.

Sun Seeds has been a steamy sci-fi idea in my head for years. The premise is simple: an exclusive religious sect uses sex and bio-majik (biological magic) to manipulate organic entities and influence powerful bloodlines, politicians and lofty merchant sects…all for the glory of Creation and the right price. Imagine a powerful brothel that can guarantee that your next heir will be a boy? Or that you need a fertile body of the certain genome type?

The Sunsates, or the Acolytes of The Creator, can do that. I was inspired by Schismmatrix by Bruce Sterling, Stranger in a Strange Land by Heinlein and The Sleeping Beauty Trilogy by Anne Rice.

I love the question: Is Sex More Powerful Than Violence?

In my mind, violence and sex are different sides of the same coin; the human psyche’s breaking point, craving vulnerability at any price. Sexual thrillers do a wonderful job of seduction and malice be it Dead Calm, Basic Instinct, Fatal Attraction or Bound. The following books planned are my homage to films like these, as they made me think about the true power dynamic between the desired and the obsessed.

Sun Seeds: The Initiate is a tale spun through the eyes of Jacques Chado, a young woman whose does not understand her training as an Initiate and what The Acolytes of the Creator really are. But Jacques has a powerful secret; one that can change the next 10,000 years and there are many who want to tip the odds in their favor, no matter the cost.

This is the first novel in the series and I’m getting a feel for the world, the players, the intrigue and the sexy times to be had. Thankfully, it’s now in the hands of an editor and a few beta readers, so covers are being planned and formatting being scheduled.

First, I’d like to thank you for stopping by. I am new to the writing world. I spent nearly two decades doing office work that I hated and thought I could never be a writer/novelist, even though I’m a huge comic nerd even as an adult.

I’m rambling. Bad Kate.

Anyway, thank you for stopping by. I will update as much as I can. In the mean time, please sign up to my mailing list and don’t hesitate to offer feedback or just say ‘hi’.
